Quick Stat - Real World Battery Life on Fedora 29
Just had this battery warning pop up:
Admittedly it's been a light day on the Asus UX410UA, but having 10% left after over 11 hours of runtime on a 1.4kg/3lbs Ultrabook isn't too shabby at all.
It was on Wifi all day, had my mobile phone on Bluetooth, and the keyboard light on. Usage was Email, some general web surfing, a bit of media streaming, downloading several Gigabytes of movie data to the (actual spinning rust) second hard drive, and updating around 280 software packages to get to the current build of Fedora 29.4. As I said, a light day. But still -- and being able to keep the fan off and merely sip from the battery used to be a weak point of FOSS.
A far cry from the days of old for sure.
